As of July 1, 2012, wood stoves in Europe may only be placed on the market with 'CE NORM EN 15821' certification.
As of January 1, 2015, wood-burning sauna heaters must comply with an additional standard - 1.BImSchV Level 2.
Stoves that comply with 1.BImSchV Level 1 may continue to be sold by the manufacturer, but the buyer must discuss this in advance with a chimney sweep and obtain approval.
The smaller stoves that comply with 1.BImSchV Level 1 could not be modified for technical reasons, which is why only the larger wood stoves comply with 1.BImSchV Level 2.
Therefore, please clarify your plans in advance and ask your local chimney sweep which of the standards (1.BImSchV 1 or 1.BImSchV 2) your future wood-burning sauna heater must meet.

The wood-burning sauna heaters of the Harvia Legend offer you the ultimate sauna experience. The black steel frame encloses an impressive amount of stones, and when these warm up, you will experience a wonderful sauna bath even at a lower temperature.
The large amount of stones ensures solid heat, even if the fire goes out temporarily.
The combustion chamber of the Legend stoves has a modern grate structure that separates the combustion air. Part of the air is directed to the upper part of the combustion chamber.
In this way, combustion is cleaner and more efficient. In addition, the grate structure increases the lifespan of the stove.
Since the safety distance from the side walls and the back wall to the combustible material is less than usual, you have more room to place the benches. The Legend sauna heaters can be equipped with a hot water tank (chimney model).
The Harvia Legend 240 is an excellent choice for a medium-sized sauna. It is equipped with a glass window on the door, through which the warm light of the fire can penetrate into the sauna. Thanks to the adjustable feet, the stove can be easily installed in the sauna.
